Effective August 10, 2026
Privacy Policy
CRY: Faith & Reflection (“CRY,” “the app,” “we,” or “us”) is a private, on-device faith and reflection app. This policy explains how CRY handles information when you use the iOS app.
Information CRY handles
CRY lets you create mood check-ins, guided-release records, journal and prayer entries, fasting records, temptation-resistance records, preferences, reminders, and optional photos. This content is stored locally on your device. CRY does not create an online account, operate a cloud database, upload this content to us, or sell it.
Photos and camera
If you choose to add a photo to a temptation-resistance entry, CRY may ask for camera access at that moment. You can also use Apple’s system photo picker to select an existing photo. A selected or captured photo is copied into the app’s private local storage. CRY does not upload that photo to us. Camera access is optional, and you may record an entry without a photo.
Notifications
If you turn on a daily check-in reminder, CRY asks for notification permission and schedules the reminder locally on your device. CRY does not use a server to send notifications. You can change or disable reminders in CRY or in iOS Settings.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
CRY does not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or data-broker software. We do not collect identifiers for advertising or tracking.
External links
CRY may open websites such as Bible Gateway and Heart and Logic Foundation in your browser. Those websites are operated by third parties and are governed by their own privacy policies. CRY does not receive the information you provide to those sites or your browsing activity on them.
Retention and deletion
Your CRY content remains on your device until you delete individual entries, use Erase All Local Data in the app, delete the app, or erase the device. Removing the app normally removes its local data, subject to Apple’s device backup and restore behavior. Because we do not receive or maintain a server copy, we cannot retrieve deleted content or delete content remotely.
Your choices
You can decline camera and notification permissions and continue using CRY’s core reflection features. You can review or change app permissions in iOS Settings and erase CRY’s local content from the Profile screen.
Children
CRY is a general-audience faith and reflection app and is not enrolled in Apple’s Made for Kids program. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children because the app does not transmit personal information to us.
Health and emergency disclaimer
CRY supports personal spiritual practice and reflection. It does not provide medical or mental-health diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services. The fasting feature is a personal intention tracker and does not instruct users to stop eating or drinking. If you may be in immediate danger or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service in your location.
Changes to this policy
If CRY’s data practices change, we will update this policy, revise the effective date, and update the App Store privacy disclosures before releasing the affected version.
